Add @nobobrewing to the “if I were to open a brewery, this would be it” list. A very comfortable taproom, semi private party room, and most importantly a tap list filled with something for everyone. I appreciated the mix of classic styles and experimental beers. The Jalapeño Honey Blonde was extremely balanced - which usually doesn’t happen when brewing with peppers. The dealer’s choice flight and blind pours were a hit - I enjoyed Like A Lager (Kölsch), The Vanilla Coffee Pot Porter & IPA for the West of Us (WestCoast IPA). Beertender did a great job!! Popped into @copperpointbrewingcompany (via Lyft) and ended up tasting everything 🤪 love this brewery. Lagers, Stouts, Sours, IPAs, Belgians … something for everyone. The bar staff was A+++. They dropped some history and more importantly beer deets as well as other local places to hit up. All beers were delish, but the Blood Orange Wit, G-Saison and Internet Gold were A+++. Want to add another + order the Invisible Ninja - 10% Imperial Stout. Great staff, vibe and music. We ventured up to Connecticut’s “quiet corner” and stopped in at @treehousefarmbrewery in Woodstock, CT. As we made our way up the long winding gravel driveway we knew we were in for a treat. Each turn provided a new view - Rolling hills, fields of produce, an apple orchard and then the farmhouse/taproom off in the distance. The grounds are impressive.

Unlike @treehousefarmbrewery flagship location which offers about 50 different beers on tap, the farm location is focused on ciders and recently added farm exclusive versions of their beers. They had 8 different options to choose from.

Popped over to Ybor City for a little caffeine at @blindtigercoffeeroasters While the centerpiece is obviously the coffee, the breakfast was amazing. The scrambled eggs in the breakfast tacos were light and fluffy. The misses LOVED the avocado toast. The roaming roosters and hens kept us entertained.

It was hard to decide so I went with a dealer’s choice flight. Make Weize Choices (Hefe), Frequency (DIPA), Annual Passholder (A Dole Whip inspired Fruited Berliner Weiss) & Eat My Schwarz! Queen’s Beer Stop 2 of 2. We had some time to kill - so following the reco of Singlecut’s Beer-tender we headed to @fifthhammerbeer in the Long Island City section of Queen’s. This converted industrial space is such a great spot to enjoy delicious beers. I loved the contrast of the old (gritty exposed brick and cinder block walls + steel beams) with the crisp stainless steel of the brewhouse.

Every beer was great, but I really appreciated the special cask beer - Richard Neverdick a 3.8% Dark Mild. Light & creamy yet full of malt & roasty notes. My partner in crime enjoyed the sours.

I’ve had their meats many times at local breweries - so I knew I was in for a great meal. I started with an order of pit smoked wings followed by my favorite way to order … Dealer’s Choice. The Brisket was smoked perfectly! Great bark, smoke ring and a firm but juicy texture. The side of beans (smoked btw) was outstanding with a nice sweet/savory base and a touch of heat. The pickles and onions were a nice touch… YUM!

I was first introduced to the @alch3mistb33r Heady Topper back in late 2012 by @jnultyw when he smuggled some cans out of VT into NYC which I was able to smuggle (1) back to CT. That weekend I cracked it open and my head EXPLODED from the wave after wave hop experience. If you’ve had Heady you know what I’m talking about. 10 years later the beer that started the New England style revolution is still one of the highest rated beers. It’s a White Whale if you haven’t had one … It’s SoFN’ GOOD!

In 2015 we took a family trip to @gostowe. At that time you could only get Heady by hitting up a select few gas stations or liquor stores to get (1) 4pk per location. It was an amazing quest to secure (1) case of beer. This was about the time they broke ground on their Stowe facility (see 2nd photo). We made plans to return for the opening but life got in the way.

8yrs later and we finally returned to see the new space … WOW! It’s an overload of senses. SIGHT - artwork everywhere - even on the fermentation tanks. SOUND - the chatter of friends/families rings through the pub like tap room. SMELL - upon walking in a hop aroma smacks you in the face. TOUCH - the can of RAPTURE uses a a tactile print technique to simulate embossing. TASTE - some of the best beer to ever cross your lips. Every detail was considered … well done!

The HandPulled Heady is not to be missed. Not into IPAs - give Luscious a try. It’s an amazing British Imperial Stout with complex tasting notes of dark roasted coffee, fruity dark chocolate and a bit of vanilla.

When in @stowemt take the Over Easy gondola into @sprucepeak for a tasting of @whistlepigwhiskey - a Vermont made Rye Whiskey. The Whistle Pig Pavilion is an impressive space overlooking the village green. I envisioned the indoor/outdoor space being very lively during peak ski season.

I went with the signature tasting flight featuring their 10y and flanked by the 12y (incredibly smooth) and their Farmstock rye (VT grown rye, VT sourced oak barrels & distilled with water from their well). They also have a small selection of signature cocktails and local craft beers on tap. I’ll be adding WhistlePig to my collection 🥃

Finally got a chance to collaborate on a homebrew with my good friend Pierre Margraff. What a fun and relaxing way to start off the day!

We created a mash using 22 pounds of freshly milled malts (a mix of Pilsner, Munich, Wheat & Smoked). We used Herkules hops for bittering, Mandarina Bavaria hops for flavor & Sterling hops for aroma. We should have a wonderful 5% Kölsch in about 3-4 weeks.

What a nice spot. Great open brewery concept that flows to a very large outdoor patio. A water view isn’t missed.

Decent selection of beers on tap. I preferred the Shore Shore IPA over the Man-Mosa DIPA (a touch too sweet). It’s a bit too early for stouts, but the Maple Donut Stout is a must try - it was also the most memorable from the weekend. The sours get a 👍 from my better half. We will be back.

In a world of overtly designed dinning, the unassuming building, decor and communal tables were a breath of fresh air. The pizza was on our table in under 10m and cooked perfectly. Nice touch of char to the crust and a great ratio between sauce, dough, cheese and toppings. Can’t wait for our next trip to #atlanta so I can try their next door location Gios for a Sicilian slice.
